Click on the link above to see the art project Mandy and the secondary students did last week. Together they created a snake out of leaves with stem binding. Then they set it in our creek and it is glorious. Andy Goldsworthy is a British artist and naturalist whose work inspired the project. You will want to check out his work after you watch our video. We went to the federal courthouse today to get the lay of the land before our mock trial. We really enjoyed the experience, but later as we watched the kids fishing in the creek we reflected on how fortunate we are to spend our days at the Inside Outside School, in the woods, at the creek, rather than in a dark panelled courtroom. We visited the Living School after court. They have an amazing playground, gardens, a little pond. It is right in the heart of east Austin. I loved it. There is a lot to love about alternative education. Where do you hang out all day. Do you love being there?
