Sarah Graham

I am so thrilled to be joining the IOS teaching staff! I will be teaching math, science, gardening, and nature skills. Our science curriculum is inspired by the film "Kiss the Ground" and corresponding curriculum. I encourage you and your students to watch the film sometime this fall, and explore the Kiss the Ground website.

This film points to regenerative agriculture as a means of combatting climate change. I have my own small farm, and will use my knowledge of sustainable farming to help us produce an abundance of food in our gardening class. In nature skills, we will be observing scientific processes in the abundant natural world around us.

For math, I view myself as a math coach. Like a sports coach, I guide the students practice, refine, and perform with support throughout the journey. We are a math team, which means we work together rather than compete against one another. The Stepping Stones curriculum is rich with opportunities for repetition and extension, and that will be the basis for our learning this year in math.
