Today we observed and measured sage plants in our school gardens. We talked about how we use the leaves of the sage plant for many things, including flavoring our food. Today, we made herb butter.
We felt the fuzzy sage leaves and rubbed them to release the yummy sage smell!
Sequence of Events as cream becomes butter
First, we shook up the cream.
Next, the cream turned into whipped cream.
Then, the butter and buttermilk began to separate.
Last, we rinsed the butter.
Ms. Meredith added the herbs. Now it is ready to eat.
